1. I think my environment art work was my most successful. Sure it wasn't the prettiest looking piece of art, but I kinda feel like I began to think outside the box. I used mixed mediums, using the chalk and oil pastels. I started to feel like I could use and do different things with my art work instead of just the normal black and white art work.
2. I feel like the art that I overcame the most obstacles was in my environment art. In my art I had planned on making a red desert, and I did. Once I finished the red desert I added a green lizard. The lizard looked really out of place in the dark background. Now for the background. The background was really light at first on account that I was using colored pencils. So i didn't like the light background so I used the chalk and oil pastels to make it dark. I ran into a lot of small speed bumps so that's why I feel like this was the art that I overcame the most obstacles.
3. The two pieces of art that showed my growth as an artists is my flight and home art. I feel that both pieces showed me that I can do different things with my art rather then just doing the basic things like using colored pencils. In my flight I used ink which was new and different for me. In my home I tried using water colors, sure it wasn't the very best but I was happy with the way it came out in the end.
4. I really liked the open range we had in terms of being able to do whatever it is that we want to do. If I wanted to use some kind of pastels I could. If I wanted to use paint and other mediums I could. I feel like being able to do whatever I wanted on my art work really gave me the open range to go out and try my best on all of my work.
Using only clay would feel different now because now I'm used to being able to use any medium I want but when we first used the clay it was fine because I was new to art and hadn't ever used really anything. A positive I see is that I had to make due with what I had so it made you truly have to think about what you were doing and had to use what you had.
