Anger issues is something I used to really struggle with when I was younger. Over time I have learned to control my anger issues and do my best not to let that side of me be exposed.
The flames are to signify the way that my anger issues have died down but sometimes come up. My anger issues on somedays take over. The flames are supposed to look like they're coming up slowly but surely, but also look like they're kept at bay, the way they actually are with me. The inside of my body was dark kinda to show how I feel at times if I just get to the point where my anger issues take over. Through my life, mostly when I really struggled with keeping them at bay, my anger issues have made me do things that I really regret even to this day. In my light art work I developed art making skills. I developed skills by working with clay. Clay is normally not a medium I work with, so to work with it is kinda like practicing and practicing will make me better at working with clay. I learned that to make a sphere with clay you can make two pinch pots and put those together to make a sphere. Sadly I also learned that sometimes your art will explode.
In my surrealism art work I communicated through my work. I communicated by showing the viewer what I see on a everyday basis. Baseball is something I do everyday, I will either be practicing or playing an actual game. I put the road in my eye because I travel a lot, most of the time that will be for one of the sports I play. NBA 2k15 was also something I put because I spend a lot of time on the weekends playing it because I don't have any time to do it during the week. ArtistLouise Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun (1755–1842)

When I first started my art I was just planning on doing kinda like a sphere but then began to think about it and realized that it would be really basic. I wanted to make people think , if they have any, about any memories they may have in the light of the moon.
I called my piece moonlight. I called it moonlight because when I and I'm hoping that when others look at it that it makes them think of the light the moon gives off at night. I used clay for this piece. I used clay so that I could make craters on the side of my moon. I had used clay only once before this art. My first experience with art wasn't the best but I decided to give it another go. My art came out better than I expected it to. I have never been very good with clay and it was a real challenge to try and get all of the little hole things out. I did expect my art to come out looking like a moon but It think it came out better than I had initially expected. I created this drawing to represent sound. I wanted the viewer to be able to look at my art and hear a man snoring. At first I wanted a really close up view of a man asleep but when I started drawing and visualizing I figured out that it looked better from a farther distance. I wanted someone, like a married couple, to be able to look at my art and think back to the night before when they were asleep and see and hear their spouse snoring.
I call my art "Schleep". I call it schleep because my friends and I use the word schleep instead of sleep so it kinda gives a little detail of me. I used a block to make my art. I really liked the example that we were showed so when I first started the art I knew I wanted to make a block. I was really pleased with my ending art because if someone looks at my art they can immediately tell that it's a man sleeping. It was my first time ever making a block so it was different and kinda hard to figure out everything that needed to be done.
1. I think my environment art work was my most successful. Sure it wasn't the prettiest looking piece of art, but I kinda feel like I began to think outside the box. I used mixed mediums, using the chalk and oil pastels. I started to feel like I could use and do different things with my art work instead of just the normal black and white art work. 2. I feel like the art that I overcame the most obstacles was in my environment art. In my art I had planned on making a red desert, and I did. Once I finished the red desert I added a green lizard. The lizard looked really out of place in the dark background. Now for the background. The background was really light at first on account that I was using colored pencils. So i didn't like the light background so I used the chalk and oil pastels to make it dark. I ran into a lot of small speed bumps so that's why I feel like this was the art that I overcame the most obstacles. 3. The two pieces of art that showed my growth as an artists is my flight and home art. I feel that both pieces showed me that I can do different things with my art rather then just doing the basic things like using colored pencils. In my flight I used ink which was new and different for me. In my home I tried using water colors, sure it wasn't the very best but I was happy with the way it came out in the end. 4. I really liked the open range we had in terms of being able to do whatever it is that we want to do. If I wanted to use some kind of pastels I could. If I wanted to use paint and other mediums I could. I feel like being able to do whatever I wanted on my art work really gave me the open range to go out and try my best on all of my work.
Using only clay would feel different now because now I'm used to being able to use any medium I want but when we first used the clay it was fine because I was new to art and hadn't ever used really anything. A positive I see is that I had to make due with what I had so it made you truly have to think about what you were doing and had to use what you had. |
